I'll ask a few skate questions and then maybe a few more serious ones. First, some skate ones. What is the hardest trick for you?

I don't know if I can pick just one. Half cab flips and frontside nosebluntslides have always given me trouble. Varial heelflips too. Shit, I'm gonna get smoked the next time I play s.k.a.t.e., I better stop there.

Do you think the hardflip is harder than an inward heel because it has the word hard in it?

Not at all, they should switch the names.

I'm always amazed at how many kids ask me, as their first question actually, if I can do a hardflip. Does this happen to you as well?

Yeah, but then I just point to Bryan Herman for a textbook example.

I've seen you do really good hardflips just cruising around at the park, are they harder than ollie impossibles or are impossibles just that; impossible?

Thanks, Herman actually gave me that recipe on King of the Road. I never did a demo in the early 90's, but maybe that was the ‘hardflip' demo question, "can you do an impossible?"

It definitely was. Luckily, I could handle that one. Give me a list of your sponsors.

Baker. Kr3w. Supra. Thunder. Spitfire. Brigada. Active.

If I were a kid who wanted to skate for Baker, Supra, Krew or Brigada, what would you look for in me? Hardflips? Impossibles? If I could do both down a big, big gap, and film it with Ty or Scuba AND get a photo sequence shot by Atiba, would that mean I could get a spot on the team?

Yes, immediately, plus health insurance. Actually, there are so many good skateboarders out there that it's more than just how well you can do a trick, it's your attitude as well. If nobody can get along with you on tour and you're a dick to kids, you won't be around long. I've seen it happen to the best.
